1) An Affordable city

- Voted AGAINST the tax increases in 2008 and 2010.

- Voted FOR the tax freezes in 2007 and 2009.

- Basic infrastructure needs must take precedence over discretionary spending items.

- Low taxes are a huge attraction of our city and we must not lose our competitive edge in this area.

2) A Safe city

- Successfully lobbied for a 30% increase in the number of police officers patrolling our streets.

- Support the creation of a General Investigation Section (GIS) in our local police force that will focus on combating organized crime.

- Will continue to advocate for an increased police presence in our city.

3) An Active city

- In 2006, campaigned on a pledge to bring a downtown summer festival to Steinbach. Will continue to support our annual Summer in the City festival.

- Favour the building of additional sidewalks and bike paths to encourage active lifestyles.

- Support the expansion of neighbourhood recreational opportunities for families.

4) A Liveable city

- Support mosquito control measures such as larviciding and fogging.

- Support increasing the number of personal care home beds so seniors can remain in their community.

- Participated in the creation of the Steinbach Community Health Board which continues to look for ways to increase the number of doctors in our city.

- Lobby for the operating and emergency room expansions at Bethesda Hospital.
